Description:
Spend your Saturday on this unique tour where you will boat on the Monocacy River and then travel to the Barley and Hops Microbrewery to enjoy a cold beer.
You will paddle by canoe or kayak 5.8 miles along the Monocacy River, the second largest tributary of the Potomac. Enjoy easy cruising along this gentle stretch of river that is rich in natural beauty. You will experience a few riffles and ledges to break up the calm waters. Take in the amazing views of lush farm fields, wooded bluffs and Catocin Mountain along the way.
After your paddle, you'll visit Barley and Hops Microbrewery where you will tour the brewery and learn about the process from Master Brewer William Golden. His knowledge and expertise of the brewing process along with the aromas of the barley and hops will captivate you.
After the tour, you will have a chance to relax on the covered patio or indoors for a sampling of 6 of their delicious brews. After sampling, choose your favorite beer to enjoy a full glass along with appetizers such as mozzarella cheese sticks, onion rings, and a veggie platter.

Essential Information:
Participants must be at least 21 years of age. Be sure to bring a water bottle (at least 32 ounces) as water is not included.
Picnic lunch is included. Choose from the following sandwiches on whole grain breads:
- Veggie Box: hummus, alfalfa sprouts, bell pepper, cucumber, carrot and lettuce in a tortilla
- Ham Box: ham with cheddar cheese, lettuce, herb oil, honey mustard
- Chicken Box: smoked chicken with honey mustard, lettuce, herb oil
All lunches include Route 11 chips, cookie and a seasonal fruit.
Be sure to bring along a pair of close-toed shoes to wear inside the brewery. Sandals are not permitted due to OSHA law.

What to Wear:
On a warm day, wear a bathing suit or quick dry shorts, a waterproof jacket, t-shirt, and old sneakers or sport sandals. On a cooler day, wear a synthetic shirt, a wool or fleece top, a waterproof jacket, quick dry shorts or synthetic pants, wool or fleece socks, and old sneakers. It is not recommended to wear jeans or cotton shirts. It is always recommended to bring a dry change of clothes, a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses with a strap, and a water bottle.

Prior to scheduling/booking a date for this experience, Cloud 9's standard return and exchange policy shall apply. Once you have scheduled a date and received a booking confirmation, no exchanges or cancellations are allowed. Rescheduling is allowed up to 72 hours prior to the Experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to reschedule in accordance with these terms will result in the loss of the value of your Experience.

What does the day's itinerary look like?
10:00 AM: Meet the group at the river take-out
10:30 AM: Depart for river put-in
2:00 PM: Take off the water, change from river shoes into close-toed shoes and drive to brewery (sandals are not permitted in brewery due to OSHA law)
2:30 PM - 4:30 PM: Brewery Tour and kick back and enjoy the beer!
