Description:
Enjoy spectacular views of the North Carolina countryside as you cruise through the air in a fully-restored, WWII Stearman Biplane!

Your Certified FAA Pilot has over 20 years of experience flying sightseeing and aerobatic rides in Stearman Biplanes. He is even a former Champion of the Aerobatic Competition at the National Stearman Fly-In, so you will definitely be in capable hands!

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the wind in your hair as you cruise above the Charlotte skyline. From the open cockpit, you'll enjoy views of Lake Norman, Charlotte Motor Speedway and much more!

If you're looking for a bit more of a thrill... ask your pilot to take it up a notch. He'll be happy to perform a few maneuvers to get the heart-pumping! Brace yourself for exciting wing-overs and sharp, sudden turns. If you select the 60-minute flight, you'll even have the opportunity to man the controls or experience a few aerobatic maneuvers. It's an experience you'll never forget!

Essential Information:

  • One passenger per flight
  • Must be at least 8 years old
  • Must be at least 10 years old to man the controls during the 60 minute option
  • Participant must weigh no more than 275 pounds
  • Participant must present a valid form of ID
  • Helmet with communication headset will be provided

Duration:
Approximately 30 or 60 minutes of flight time depending on the option selected.

Maximum Participants:
1 passenger per flight

Spectators:
Spectators are encouraged to watch the take-off and landing from the airport terminal. There may be an opportunity to take photos and ask questions about the aircraft, if escorted out of the terminal by the pilot.

Weather Dependent:
This experience is weather dependent. Always contact the experience provider with any questions regarding weather conditions.

What to Wear:
Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather conditions. Passengers typically will want to wear a jacket and light gloves if flying outside of the summer months. Closed-toes shoes and sunglasses are recommended.

Booking Information:
For this experience, it is recommended to request bookings at least 14 days in advance.

Cancellation Policy:
Prior to scheduling/booking a date for this experience, Cloud 9 Living's standard return and exchange policy shall apply. Once you have scheduled a date and received a booking confirmation, no refunds will be given. Rescheduling is allowed up to 72 hours prior to your experience, failure to appear on your booked date or to reschedule at least 72 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience. In the event your experience is canceled due to inclement weather you will reschedule your experience directly with your pilot.

  1. Can I bring a camera or video recorder on my flight?
    Yes! It is best to use a wrist strap during the flight since it can be easy to lose control of your devices. With advanced notice, it may be possible for your to rig your GoPro or other similar device to the plane. Please contact your experience provider directly to make arrangements.
  2. Will I be able to speak to the pilot while in the air?
    Yes. You will be provided with a helmet and communication system so you can let your pilot know how you are feeling throughout your flight.
  3. What is the difference between the 30 and 60-minute flight options?
    During the 30-minute flight, you'll get to enjoy the scenery and experience a few basic maneuvers. If you select the 60-minute option, you'll have time to try a lot more! You may want to take over the controls and fly the plane a bit or you can ask your pilot to give you a real thrill and perform some aerobatics. It's totally up to you!
