Step aboard the Odyssey of Chicago for a singularly unique setting that begs to be explored. As you depart from Navy Pier and begin your journey on the water, bring your cocktail up to the observation deck and take in views of the Chicago skyline unlike any you've had before.

Visit the Observation deck or the Captain's bridge - open to all passengers throughout most of the cruise. Capture the distinctive atmosphere reminiscent of classic ocean liners.

Indulge your senses with a menu of creative seasonal appetizers, entrees and desserts all served to you by your attentive waiter.

After dinner, it's time to dance the night away. Each deck aboard Odyssey offers spacious dance floors and live music; with everything from classic jazz or contemporary favorites to soft piano music.

Departure times range from 6:30PM to 7:00PM with boarding beginning at least 30 minutes prior to departure.

For men, slacks and a collared shirt are recommended. For women, nice slacks, Capri pants or a dress is recommended.

Booking Information:
For this experience, it is recommended to request bookings 5 days in advance.

Cancellation Policy:
Prior to scheduling/booking a date for this experience, Cloud 9's standard return and exchange policy shall apply. Once you have scheduled a date and received a booking confirmation, no refunds will be given but rescheduling your dinner cruise is allowed up to 72 hours prior to the Experience. Failure to appear on your booked date, cancel, or reschedule at least 72 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience.

  1. What type of food is served?
    Each guest will be presented a menu to order from and each order will be prepared fresh in our full service galley.

    Plated Dinner Menu (subject to change):
    +First Course: Caramelized Duck en Croute, Mixed Greens, Lobster Bisque or Shrimp and Corn Chowder, Seafood Melange
    +Main Course: Pan Roasted Chicken Breast, Wild Alaskan Salmon, Seafood Ravioli, Beef Short Ribs, Pork Tenderloin, Roasted Vegetable Napoleon
    +Dessert: Cheesecake, Chocolate Truffle Torte, Bread Pudding, Fruit Crisp
  2. What is the difference between "Boarding Time" and "Cruising Time"?
    "Boarding Time" is the earliest you and your guests may board the ship.  You are free to board anytime after that up until the "Cruise Time."  The ship will leave the port at the "Cruise Time." No boarding will be allowed once the ship has set sail. 
  3. May I bring my own camera on board?
    Guests are more than welcome to bring their own camera for personal pictures aboard the ship.  In addition, as you are boarding, the ship's photographer records the moment for your entire party.  As you depart, you'll find your boarding photo ready for purchase.
  4. What is the cruise route?
    Weather permitting, Odyssey cruises south along the lake shore, past the Adler Planetarium, north to Montrose harbor, then returns south to Navy Pier.  All the while, Odyssey offers unmatched views of the world famous skyline, from the Sears Tower, the John Hancock, to the Museum campus, Aon Center and more.
  5. How far off shore does the ship travel?
    The ship is licensed to travel as far as 3 miles off shore, however, the cruise route typically remains only one mile off shore.
  6. Can I bring a birthday cake on board?
    Small cakes that do not require refrigeration are allowed to be brought on board.
  7. What is the dress attire?
    The atmosphere is special and we hope our guests experience it to its fullest.  Jackets are recommended for men and cocktail attire for women.  We request no jeans, shorts, tank tops, halter tips, gym shoes or flip flops are worn on any cruise.
  8. What type of entertainment do you have?
    Odyssey offers an inviting dance floor and a variety of live music from classic jazz on our brunch cruise to contemporary favorites from a five piece band on our dinner cruise. 
  9. Is the vessel handicapped accesible?
    Yes, the vessel is handicap accessible.  Once your party arrives, our marine crew can assist you as you embark the boarding ramp.
  10. Do you offer vegetarian meals?
    Yes, please see the menu on the experience detail page for the vegetarian option.
  11. Are there restrooms on board?
    Yes, restrooms are located in every enclosed dining room on the ship.
  12. Is smoking allowed on the cruise?
    Smoking is allowed on the outside decks only.
