"Airventure Ballooning was nice enough during several reschedulings (it took several scheduled flights before we finally had decent weather). I cannot fault them for weather delays and for rescheduling. And their pilot seemed very conscientious regarding the wind/weather. However, it seemed like they were unprepared or uncoordinated for the flight. After laying out the balloon to begin airing it up, they noticed no one had bothered to fill up the fan gas tank. So we had to wait about 30 minutes for one of the staff to go get a can of gasoline. And, the flight seemed much shorter than we expected. It was probably about 45 minutes at most - my wife believed it was even shorter than that. Since we had waited around for so long for gasoline, we probably had to set down early due to the coming sunset. We traveled approximately 4.5 miles from takeoff to landing. With winds at 6, that would be about 45 minutes in the air. With winds at 8, that would be 34 minutes in the air. There was no "traditional champagne toast upon landing". I assume it was like the gasoline - forgotten. Kind of a let down. Overall, it was a great adventure and I would highly recommend a balloon ride as an adventure. However, I would be hesitant to recommend this particular provider. Airventure Ballooning did not meet our expectations for the full experience nor as a prepared company."
