This is a wonderful chance for someone to learn about fly fishing. You will learn in a classroom setting and on the water. The instruction and hands on experience are great. Any individual thinking of starting fly fishing would benefit from this experience.

  1. What do I need to bring?
We will provide everthing you need for the class, you just need to bring a favorite hat, jacket, any medications you may need and your willingness to learn this wonderful sport. If you have a fly rod you can bring it but we have a full array of Sage rods, reels and fly lines for you to use.
  2. What kind of clothing do I need?
You will need to wear something comfortable for the classroom days as we will be inside and outside. You will need a hat, light jacket and anything else that will make you comfortable. For the river day, we will be in waders and we recommend a synthetic pant underneath you waders that will wick moisture keep you dry. Blue jeans are not recommended as they will retain moisture and are very bulky. You will want to layer on the top as it may be cool in the morning and warmer in the afternoon. This way you can shed a layer when you start to warm up.
  3. Do you stop the school because of weather?
We will make that assessment the week of the class. If they are forcasting rain, then the school will proceed. If they are calling for 36" of snow, more that likely we will not have the class.
