What to Wear:
Participants must wear a western style boot with at least a walking heel: no ropers, lace ups or high tops, and no rubber soles.
For this experience, it is recommended to request bookings at least 21 days in advance. Bookings confirmed within 14 days of your course will incur an additional $25 fee.
Once you have received a booking confirmation, cancellations and rebooking are allowed up to 14 days prior to the Experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to cancel and rebook at least 14 days prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your Experience.
Do you provide equipment or do we have to bring our own?
If you have your own gear bring it so we can evaluate it, help tune it up as needed, and so you can use at the school what you'll be competing with after the school.
If you do not have equipment we provide a full line of Pro Rodeo Equipment FREE as needed except for boots.
About any western style boots will work. Try to get something that fits well and is not too bulky, and with a relatively flat shank. It doesn't have to be flat but would be better if it's not too radical.
If you are interested in purchasing equipment, we will have a full line of Pro Rodeo Equipment for sale on site.
Are meals and lodging provided as part of the tuition?
Only at New Caney, TX and Zolfo Springs, FL is lodging on the grounds provided Free for students (sleeping bag/cot facility with on the grounds showers). Meals are served on the grounds at a reasonable concession fee.
At Rose Hill, KS there is now a bunk house that has T.V. and DVD player, Shower, Stove, Refrigerator, and Microwave. Sleeping bags/cots/towels required. $15.00 per night. Right on the Grounds! Limited to the first 9 signed up for the Bunk House each session.
At all other locations we have area lodging, and many who give student discounts. We send you that contact information along with directions and other essential student info when you sign up for a school.
I'm confident that once you are at the school you'll find you get far more than you pay for with or without lodging included. There's a reason the experience provider is the largest and most recognized rodeo training program in the world.
What is the risk of injury at the school?
When you deal with livestock the size of rodeo animals there's no way to promise the elimination of all potential injuries BUT our experience provider does have the highest and best safety rating in the sport. They have been chosen to do the safety seminars for Pro Rodeo, the National High School Rodeo Assn., the National Little Britches Rodeo Assn., The American Jr. Rodeo Assn., and so on.
The experience provider will match the quality and caliber of livestock (from beginner stock to pro stock for those who need it... and everything in between) with the student's age, experience, physical condition, athletic ability, and ambitions as closely as possible. PLEASE NOTE: We are not dealing with trained animals and cannot make you an athlete or change your physical condition or your mental state in only a three or four day training session. We do our best to put you on the stock best suited for your ability and will always advice when you need more drills, etc. first (as we've always done at all schools).
The provider also uses the best safety gear in the sport the best and most used protective vests, helmets, the "Brain Pad" mouth guards, quality riggings, saddles, and bull ropes. By doing so our rate and severity of injuries is far below that of what you'll see in any rodeo or rodeo association.
Can you attend only one or two days of a school?
Yes, but the tuition will not change for the school and you need to be there the first day from the start. The first day of each session is too important to miss if there's any way you can be there for it. The instructors will do what they can to catch you up if you have no other option but to come late, but that first half day is when students get equipment set up and ready to go, learn how to use the gear, and go over all of the ride essentials and safety concepts for each event.
You must be there the first day or allow time to get you caught up if you can't be there for it the first day. After the first day it's up to you if you are able to be there the remainder of the scheduled session.

"Sankey Rodeo is a class act. Their instructors were the utmost professionals and took a very intimidating and challenging sport and made it simple, easy to understand, and most of all safe for the participants. Lyle Sankey took personal care in ensuring that each student, some of which came from all all over to country, received personal attention. The instructors, particularly CJ, honed made sure each student remained encouraged and excited for the sport. The student base was made up of everyone from weekend warriors to professionals looking to take their training to the next level. It was an amazing experience, truly life changing. I could not recommend it more highly."
"Absolutely satisfied in every aspect of the process from purchasing and scheduling to the event itself. Cloud 9 personnel in particular were incredibly helpful and friendly. Even if the experience itself were horrible I would recommend Cloud 9 based on customer support alone, however the experience was incredible too! Cloud 9 obviously keeps close contact with their event hosts, so no information is confused or misportrayed at any point, and if something isn't clear they will find an answer quickly and appropriately."
