Looking to get started in sailing at a younger age? This class is designed to teach youth's the basic fundamentals of sailing and boat handling.
  • Founded in 1989, this sailing school has grown to one of the largest and most diverse schools in the Midwest
  • All instructors are US Sailing Certified as well as have CPR and Red Cross certification
  • This 2 week class will be taught on 14 ft. Club 420 sailboats, the same boats used in high school and college events around the country

Description:
This beginner sailing course for youth's aged 11-18 is designed to teach the fundamentals of sailing and boat handling so that you can take your skills to the next level.

During the 2 week course, you will meet four days per week. Each session will be taught be our US Sailing certified instructors aboard Club 420 sailboats. You will learn skills such as rigging the boat, knot-tying, tacking and gybing, and landing at the dock or buoy.

Students are encouraged to take this course more than once, as they will be offered new opportunities such as learning new boat handling skills and an introduction to racing.

Availability:
This school is available on select dates during the summer months.

Essential Information:
This course is for youth's aged 11-18 years of age. No prior sailing experience is necessary in order to take this course.

Duration:
This class meets four days per week for 2 weeks.

Maximum Participants:
There is a maximum of 12 people per class.

Spectators:
Not Allowed

Weather Dependent:
This experience is weather dependent. Please contact the experience provider for up to date weather conditions.

What to Wear:
Dress for the weather. Remember that it may be a bit cooler on the water. You may also want to wear a hat, sunglasses, and bring sunscreen for protection from the sun. Please no dark soled shoes.

Booking Information:
For this experience, it is recommended to request bookings at least 14 days in advance.

Cancellation Policy:
Once you have received a booking confirmation, cancellations and rebooking are allowed up to 14 days prior to the Experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to cancel and rebook at least 14 days prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your Experience.
