Description:
Are you ready for the driving experience of a lifetime? Turn your dream of taking the checkered flag into a reality at the historic 2.5-mile Pocono Raceway.

Thousands of cars have raced here since the track's beginning in 1968, and now it is home to 2 Sprint Cup Series races each year. With its long straightaways and three distinct corners, this superspeedway is an incredible track to drive.

Your stock car driving experience begins with a detailed discussion on the operation of the race cars, safety equipment and track rules. This is followed by an informative tour of the race track with a professional instructor. Next, you will be fitted for a racing suit and helmet.

Then it's time to climb in, strap up and take control of a Sprint Cup style stock car. As you leave the pit and enter the 2.5-mile superspeedway you will experience an adrenaline rush only known to the NASCAR racing world.

The drive sessions are run in a follow the leader format. An instructor will lead 2 students following 4 car lengths behind. Each lap your confidence builds and the lead instructor increases the speed.

Upon completion of the program, each participant will receive a certificate of achievement and memories that will last a lifetime.

Please call Cloud 9 Living prior to purchase if there is any question surrounding the participant meeting these requirements to ensure participation is possible.
  4. What is the track like?
Pocono Raceway has long been recognized as one of NASCAR's most competitive tracks in the NASCAR circuit, featuring two NASCAR Cup races each year. The 2.5-mile tri-oval superspeedway has a unique design, with each of its 3 turns modeled after a different track in the US. Turn 1: (14-degree banking) is modeled after the former Trenton Speedway. Turn 2: (sometimes referred to as "The Tunnel Turn") reflects the 8-degree banking of the infamous Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Turn 3: (6-degree banking) boasts the likes of the renowned Milwaukee Mile. Although referred to as a tri-oval track style, the Pocono Raceway's turns are more similar to a triangle shape, as its turns are much sharper than other typical tri-oval tracks (such as Daytona).
  5. What is a typical day like?
The stock car driving programs begin with a detailed orientation on the operation of the race cars, safety equipment and track rules. This is followed by an informative tour of the race track with a professional instructor. Next you'll be fitted for a racing suit and helmet. Then you'll climb in, strap up and take control of a Sprint Cup style stock car. As you leave the pit and enter the 2.5-mile superspeedway you will experience an adrenaline rush only known to the racing world. The drive sessions are run in a follow the leader format. 6. Do I need to know how to drive a stick?
Yes, to drive you are required to have experience in operating a manual transmission. All cars have 4-speed manual transmissions.
  7. What type of cars are used?
These are real stock cars, just like the big boys drive on Sunday: 4-speed Fords, Chevys and Dodges.

No, insurance is included in the cost of your experience which covers accidental damage to the cars.

"The drive a stock car experience was incredible, I gave it as a gift to my fiancé for his birthday and he loved it. I searched all over and this was the only place I found that allows people to drive the car themselves and really get to feel what it's like to be a race car driver, a lot of places I found only let you do a ride along. Overall an amazing experience I want to buy it for my brother now! "

" I purchased a Drive a Stock Car experience gift certificate for my husband's 50th birthday present. I liked the flexibility it gave him to choose exactly where he wanted to drive and which experience he wanted. He loved the driving experience and said it was one of the best things he has ever done ( besides marrying me, of course)."
