About the North American T-6:
Known as the "Pilot Maker" because it trained over 100,000 allied pilots in WW II, the Texan was built as an advanced fighter trainer for the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy and many Allied Nations.

The designation AT-6 was used by the Army Air Corps, while the Air Force refered to it as a T-6, and the Navy called the aircraft an SNJ. The Commonwealth Air Forces referred to it as a Harvard.

They were designed to be flown by experienced pilots transitioning to the hot front line fighters of the 1940's and were used to teach air combat, gunnery, bombing and aircraft carrier operations.

"Once arriving at the airport I was greeted by my pilot Chris and he really couldn't have been nicer or more knowledgeable. He already had the plane fully prepped and within 20 minutes he gave me the tour of the airplane and walked me through all the safety procedures in case of an emergency, and made me confident and competent about the cockpit and my parachute. Once up in the air, Chris took us out over the coast of Long Beach and Palos Verdes and let me take control of the plane. I've had about 10 flying lessons prior to the experience so he and I both felt confident I could handle it. After letting me ride the coast and do some big 180s he took the controls and did a couple very fun and exciting barrel rolls and high G turns. I couldn't have asked for more. Once our time was up he spoke me through getting the plane back towards the airport I flew us home.....but he landed of course! The experience was 110% beyond my expectations and I immediately recommended it to several of my friends."
