The Ahwatukee Academy of Golf utilizes state-of-the-art teaching technology to enhance both the understanding of the swing and enjoyment of golf by all students attending a teaching session.

Instructor Jay Becher has served as Director of Golf at Ahwatukee Country Club for the past 14 years and is the lead instructor at Ahwatukee Academy. Jay is a Swing Model certified instructor and has tremendous experience teaching both individuals and executive golf events.

Frank O'Connell; We-Ko-Pa Golf Club; Fort McDowell, AZ

Instructor Frank O'Connell been a PGA Class A Member since 1997, and focuses his efforts on his true passion: teaching the game of golf.

Frank was mentored under heralded golf instructor Scott Sackett (Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor) and has developed into a top-tier instructor.

Frank has been featured in "Golf Tips Magazine" five times, "Arizona Golfer Magazine", and on NBC 12 and ABC 15 weekly golf tip segments.

In addition to teaching, Frank has become an accomplished competitive player. He qualified for the 2008 National Club Professional tournament, has won multiple Southwest PGA Section events, and has finished in the top 20 of the Arizona Open.

Note:  Frank is available to teach at We-Ko-Pa from October - June.

Matt Trimble; ASU Karsten Golf; Tempe, AZ
PGA Class A member Matt Trimble has over 25 years of teaching experience, and has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of the Best Instructors in Arizona as ranked by his peers in 2005-2006.

As an instructor at the ASU/Karsten, Matt works on cooperative efforts with ASU's nationally ranked golf programs. As a consultant to Titleist, he helped develop their renowned club fitting program and design.

Matt's clientele include stand-out high school golfers, collegiate athletes, players on the mini-tours, and local scratch amateurs. Knowledge, clarity of communication, patience and a high success rate are what make Matt Trimble an instructor sure to improve your game.

This experience includes course or practice facility fees. Golf clubs not included, participant must provide his or her own.

Instructors are PGA Class A professionals who have completed a multi-year series of work, study and training in every aspect of golf. They have passed an aptitude test and must maintain his or her expertise through continuing education programs.

Weather Dependent:
Yes, this experience is weather dependent. In the event your lesson is canceled due to weather, you will be able to reschedule your lesson with your instructor.

What to Wear:
All golfers must wear proper golf attire, including golf slacks or golf shorts and appropriate golf shoes. Men must wear collared shirts and women must wear appropriate golf shirts.

Booking Information:
It is recommended to request bookings 14 - 30 days in advance. Lesson dates and times are subject to your instructor's availability.

Cancellation Policy:
Prior to scheduling/booking a date for this experience, Cloud 9's standard return and exchange policy shall apply. Once you have scheduled a lesson with your instructor, no returns or exchanges are allowed. Rescheduling will be subject to your selected instructor's rescheduling policy.
