"The Lawrenceville Food Tour exceeded my expectations. The size of the tour group (about 14) was small enough for everyone to feel they had personal attention and could ask questions. We stopped at six establishments and ate a Greek salad plate, Greek Spanakopita, fried pierogi, house-made sausage sandwich, pasta with Vodka sauce, and a delightful gourmet cupcake over the course of the two-hour walking tour. The tour guide, Sylvia, is also the tour business owner. She provided interesting architectural and historical information about the Lawrenceville area and made sure that everyone was safe during the walk. Food restrictions were honored, and Sylvia made sure to seek our opinions about food quality after each stop. We also made a stop at one of the local art galleries, which was interesting but perhaps a little too long although Sylvia may have been trying to keep us on schedule with the arrival times expected by the food establishments. Even as long-time Pittsburgh residents, my husband and I found three eateries that were new to us. The only thing that could have made the experience totally perfect would have been to stop at the cupcake place last, but that was not possible because of the locations and business hours of the places. Sylvia did make it possible for us to get take-out containers for our cupcakes, and I would recommend doing that since all of the other small plates had to be eaten in the restaurants. My husband and I thought the price was reasonable for the large amount of food that was provided. We would definitely take one of the other tours, as well."
