Description:
Are you looking to spend a refreshing day outside hiking through the picturesque Pacific Northwest? Or maybe you'd rather relax and visit the region's charming wineries? Why not do both!
The Hike: Your expedition begins in the heart of Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. This place is overflowing with peaks, lakes, rivers and streams and the perfect region to enjoy the outdoors.
Depending on the conditions, your guide will pick the Trail of the Day and you'll embark on a moderate hike through a northwest wonderland experiencing the season's beauty. Track and spot wildlife and mountain birds, all the while making sure you have time to just take in the magical scenery.
Your guide will share his or her vast knowledge of hiking in the outdoors and fitness training in the mountains. You'll also witness a grand landscape in motion as you witness the forces that have shaped these unique lands.
The Wine: Next, it's time to enjoy a scenic drive in your guide's adventure fitted luxury Mercedes van or jeep to the Woodinville area to explore the region's most charming wineries. Woodinville wineries share more than locality; they share a commitment to creating fine, world-class wines from the very best Washington vineyards.
This Woodinville Wine experience will take you on a tour of four of Woodinville's most acclaimed boutique wineries in an intimate and relaxed setting. The spotlight is on more than just the quality of wine. Each visit will dig a little deeper to explore the local winemaking history and the art of viticulture.
What better way to relax after a refreshing morning hike in the wilderness than tasting wines and relaxing with friends!
Possible featured wineries:
Brian Carter Cellars: Visit the "little yellow tasting room" of Brian Carter Cellars, the first winery in Washington state to focus exclusively on an array of handcrafted European-style blended wines.
Northwest Totem Cellars: Enjoy the rare experience of wine tasting in the winemaker's very own kitchen. This family-owned winery shares their handcrafted wines as well as their extensive knowledge of the wine-making process.
DeLille Cellars: Enjoy award winning wines while taking in the stunning architecture of their traditional "chai" styled winery or in the comfort of their interpretive nature walk through the on-site native wetland.
JM Cellars: Taste wines fireside before touring the cellar room, or maybe taste wines straight from the barrel!
