Celebrate the Ethnic Diversity of Seattle! Although it's been inhabited for 4,000 years, the European settlement and influence didn't begin until mid 19th century. American Pioneer Doc Maynard renamed the area "Seattle", an anglicized rendition of the name Sealth - the chief of the two local tribes.

During your private walking tour of the area you will learn about the Emerald City and the multi-ethnic influences that are woven into the area. This tour recalls the stories and events that lie behind the Euro-America facade of the Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square, International District, China Town, Japan Town, Little Saigon & the old Jewish neighborhood.
