This Intro to Glass Blowing Lesson is the first step for anyone interested in working with hot glass!
The lesson guides the first time glass artist through the most crucial skills of glass blowing. Your experienced instructor will introduce you to tools, safety and basic glass theory in a fun and informative way.
You will also learn how to gather glass from the furnace, then how to shape and control it, and how to apply color to the glass.
You will leave with a gorgeous handmade paperweight and a strong foundation for future exploration!
- Participants must be at least 12 years old
- All tools and materials will be provided
- Please bring a bottle of water on the day of the experience
- Feel free to bring snacks, but alcoholic drinks are not allowed
- No experience necessary

What To WearWear clothing made of natural fibers (cotton) and comfortable, closed-toe shoes. It is recommended to tie back long hair and to bring a bottle of water. Please don't wear any jewelry.
Booking InformationFor this experience, it is recommended to request bookings 14 days in advance.
Cancellation PolicyPrior to scheduling/booking a date for this experience, Cloud 9 Living's standard return and exchange policy shall apply. Once you have received a booking confirmation, rescheduling is allowed up to 14 days prior to the experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to reschedule at least 14 days prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience.
When can I pick up my piece?
All work will be fired or annealed overnight and will not be ready to take home on the same day of your class. Please call our experience provider a day prior to picking up your piece so they can confirm it is ready. Due to the heavy volume of classes, all pieces must be picked up within 2 weeks of your class date. If you need your piece shipped, there is an additional fee of $20.
Is there food available for purchase?
There is no food available for purchase during the lesson. Please feel free to bring snacks and water.
What should I wear?
Wear clothing made of natural fibers (cotton) and comfortable, closed-toe shoes. It is recommended to tie back long hair and to bring a bottle of water. Jewelry are not allowed during the lesson.
