  • Embark on an outdoor adventure and discover the sounds of silence with this guided, 3-day exploration of Olympic National Park!

    Day 1

Your adventure will begin with a morning ferry ride across the Puget Sound en route to Lake Crescent. As you make your way across the sound, keep your eye out for seals, porpoises, and even whales! After a family-style picnic lunch at the lake, you will embark on a short hike to Marymere Falls before heading to the coastal Ruby Beach. At the beach, you will enjoy some time to explore tide pools, climb haystacks, or just admire the vastness of the ocean. Soon, it will be time to head to camp where cold beer, snacks, and a warm fire await. After a light dinner and some relaxation, it will be time to retire to your off-the-grid mobile cabin for the night.

    Day 2

Your second day will be the true highlight of the trip. With renowned naturalist and sound recordist, Matt Mikkelsen as your guide, you will venture deep into the Hoh Rain Forest to experience, perhaps for the first time, true silence. Visiting what may be the "quietest place in North America", Matt will introduce you to the intricacies of the surrounding eco-system and discuss the impact of human noise pollution on the forest. After a relaxed day of exploration on your feet, it will be time to head back to your coastal camp for dinner at the nearby lodge.

    Day 3

On the final day of your trip, you will enjoy a morning exploring the coastal beach at camp and soaking in the views. After breakfast, it will be time to head back into the park to hike the magnificent Hurricane Ridge. Making your way above the forest canopy, you will be treated to stunning high-alpine views of the Olympic Mountains in the distance. Enjoy a picnic lunch before spending the afternoon exploring the ridge with your guide. Sadly, before you know it, it will be time to descend back down and make the return journey to Seattle. Enjoy one last ferry ride across the sound and reflect on the adventure you just had. You'll be back home in time for dinner with lots of stories to tell!
