How much food is served on the tour?
There are 4-5 stops on the tour where you will be served small specialty meals. For most people it is enough food that dinner afterward will not be necessary.
What types of food is served on the tour?
Tastings may include (and are subject to change) local seafood specialties, award winning chef's signature dishes, house smoked meat, fair trade organic coffee, eclectic tapas created with locally sourced ingredients, authentic Moroccan cuisine served at a 19th century carriage house, locally brewed beers and the best and largest desserts in the city.
Are beverages available during the tour?
Each restaurant will serve water with the tastings and there is a chance to have coffee and a local beer along the way. Participants must be at least 21 years of age with a valid form of ID to participate in any alcohol tastings on the tour.
What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?
Most food allergies and dietary restrictions can be accommodated on this tour. Please notify Virgin Experience Gifts at the time of booking of any special needs or requests.
Are children welcome on the tour?
Children are welcome on the tour, however a majority of the tour is spent standing and walking. The tour is approximately 3.5 hours in length and is not recommended for children under the age of 12.
If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?
Children under the age of 7 that will not be participating in food tastings do not require a ticket. However, please notify Virgin Experience Gifts at the time of booking if you will be bringing an infant or young child along with you.
Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
This tour will cover some uneven terrain and may be difficult on a wheelchair. Please notify Virgin Experience Gifts at the time of booking if anyone if your party will need wheelchair access throughout the tour.
Are restrooms available during the tour?
Yes, restrooms are available during the tour at all restaurants.
How much walking is involved? Is it a fast-paced tour?
Approximately half of this 3.5-hour tour is spent walking or standing. The pace is comfortable and seating is available at most of the stops. Each stop will last approximately 15-20 minutes.
What happens if it rains or snows?
This experience is not weather dependent and will run rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, you will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour. Always contact the experience provider with questions regarding weather.
Do we just walk around and sample food?
Absolutely not! Aside from sampling delicious food you will learn about the Granby Street area in Norfolk. The tour is fully narrated by your guide who will discuss the history, culture, and architecture of the Granby Street area.
