    Essential Information
    • Available during fall Gauley season only, on specified dam release dates
    • Must be at least 12 years of age
    • Participants should be able to swim
    • Participants must sign a waiver to participate
    • Rafts, helmets, paddles and personal flotation devices are provided
    • Wetsuits and splash jackets available for rent
    • Hot riverside lunch will be provided
    Duration
    This is a full day trip. Depending on the water level, you’ll spend between 5-7 hours on the water, plus lunch and shuttle time to and from the river.

    Maximum Participants
    This experience is available for up to 8 participants per boat. Larger groups can reserve more than one boat.
    Spectators
    This experience is for booked participants only.
    Weather Dependent
    Trips run rain or shine with the exception of severe weather. Please contact your tour provider with any questions about weather.
    What To Wear
    Please wear water shoes, sneakers or other shoes that can get wet and stay on your feet well. (No flip-flops or Crocs.) Swimsuits/swim trunks or light layers are appropriate. Be sure to wear sunscreen and bring a set of dry clothes to change into after the trip. The average water temperature on the Gauley River in the fall is 50 degrees. You may want to bring a synthetic layer. Wetsuits and splash jackets are available for rent.

    For this experience, our partners are taking extra measures to help prevent any potential spread of COVID-19. These measures include reducing capacity for all buses and experiences, disinfecting all common areas and equipment, and requiring all guests and employees to wear masks and practice social distancing. Masks and gloves will be provided to all guests who do not have one for their experience. Our partners kindly ask that if you are experiencing any flu or cold like symptoms, to reschedule your experience.

    Are there age restrictions?

    Yes, participants must be at least 12 years of age.

    Do I need any experience?

    No, you do not need experience. However, please note that this trip is a very advanced river section for first-time rafters. Participants should also know how to swim.

    What should I wear?

    What will the guide provide?

    Your guide will provide the rafts, transportation to and from the river from meeting point, paddles, personal flotation devices, helmets, food and an amazing time!

    What food will be served? What about dietary restrictions?

    A hot riverside lunch will be provided. Please let Cloud 9 Living know of any allergies or dietary restrictions at the time of booking to see if further accommodations can be made.

    Returns
    Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be returned hassle-free within 30 days.  All refunds will be made to the original purchaser.

    Exchanges
    Experience Vouchers that have not been redeemed can be exchanged for anything else in our marketplace at any time.  If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs more, you'll simply have to pay the difference.  If you choose to exchange for an experience that costs less, you'll have a credit towards your next booking with Cloud 9 Living.

    Cancellation Policy

    Once you have received a booking confirmation, cancellations are allowed 30 days prior less a processing fee or rescheduling is allowed up to 72 hours prior to the experience. Failure to appear on your booked date or to reschedule at least 72 hours prior to your booked date will result in the loss of the value of your experience.
