Learn to Fly a Cessna in Chicago
Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling, IL
Northern Illinois Flight & Downtown Adventure: Year round, daily
Lake Geneva Getaway: April through October, daily
- One on one instruction with a FAA Certified instructor
- Learn to fly in a Cessna 172. You can even bring a friend along to ride on this beautiful flight
- Do everything a pilot does throughout the flight (except the takeoff and landing!)
- Perfect introduction to flying for anyone in the Chicago area who has always wanted to learn to fly
Upon arrival, you will be assigned your own personal FAA Certified Flight Instructor who will walk you through all the things a real pilot does before, during and after a typical flight.
This lesson is not to be confused with an "airplane ride" where one passively watches someone else do the work. The whole idea of this introductory flight lesson is to get you to do as much as possible.
You will do all the pre-flight procedures, taxi the aircraft, talk to the control tower to get clearance, learn about the complexity of the take off, and once airborne - do many in-flight maneuvers. Your certified instructor will be sitting next to you telling you to "push this" and "pull that", but you will do most of the flying.
You will receive a Certificate of Completion with the logged hours signed by your flight instructor.
Through this flight you will experience all the different aspects of flight, have a lot of fun, and know enough to decide whether you want to continue the challenge of learning to fly.
Northern Illinois Flight: Includes a 30 minute flight. You will take off from the Chicago Executive Airport and fly above the surrounding area.

Returning along the north side, you will fly over Wrigley Field, Skokie and Lincolnwood before returning to the airport.
Lake Geneva Getaway: This deluxe flight will be remembered for a lifetime. After take off you will fly north over Mundelein, Libertyville and Lincolnshire to Great America (Gurnee), then turn left and head northwest toward the Chain of Lakes and City of Lake Geneva. You will land at Grand Geneva Airport, and enjoy a beverage or light lunch at the Grand Geneva Spa and Resort, before taking off again and flying back to Chicago Executive Airport.

"Outstanding Experience. I would recommend this to anyone!"
"Went for my 30th birthday. Had to be one of the coolest experiences of my life. The pilot instructer was amazing."
"Everything about the introductory flight lesson was fantastic!! Executive Flight School was great, but very hard to find and not well-marked for the public. Maybe that's the point? Anyways, my booking was inaccurate; Cloud 9 confirmed me for a different day than I requested, so when I arrived the pilot was not really ready for my experience. They accomodated me in the end, though, and I had a great time once we got off the ground. Thanks! Ross Wasserstrom "
