Description:
Sit back and let one of our certified instructors give you the ultimate hang gliding experience.

When you arrive at the Kagel Mountain 3,500' launch site, your Tandem Instructor will discuss all the details of your flight and answer any question you have as he prepares you for your adventure.

After you assist in assembling and preflight of the glider, you are ready to get in your harness. You will do a short practice run and your tandem pilot will instruct you on your three responsibilities: run, hold on and enjoy the flight!

At launch you'll do a hang check and go over your flight plan. When you are ready and the wind is right you will begin your launch and after few steps you'll be flying.

4.5 / 5 stars

4.5 out of 5 stars - based on 1 reviews
  1. Do I need to be really fit to hang glide?
Hang Gliding requires no exceptional talent or skill. Almost anyone of average height, weight, and physical conditioning can learn.
  2. What should I bring to my lessons?
Long pants, comfortable running shoes and 1 liter of drinking water. Cameras are welcome. Be prepared to pay a $5-7 parking fee to the county.
  3. What happens if the weather is bad?
Don't worry, your lesson will be rescheduled for another day.
  4. What does the typical day look like?
When you arrive at the launch site, your instructor will discuss all the details of your flight and answer any questions you have as he prepares you for your adventure.  After you assist in assembling and preflight of the glider, you are ready to get in your harness.  Careful adjustments are made to insure your comfort and safety each step of the way.  You will do a short practice run and your tandem pilot will instruct you on your two responsibilities: 1) run 2) hold onto his harness.  At launch, you'll do a hang check and go over your flight plan.  When you are ready and the wind is right, you will begin your launch and after a few steps, you'll be flying.
  5. If I'm aftraid of heights, can I learn to fly?
Many hang glider pilots claim to be afraid of heights.  If you enjoy flying in airplanes then you will probably be comfortable in a hang glider.
  6. How heavy is a hang glider?
The modern light weight training gliders weigh about 50 pounds and with just a little bit of wind, they weigh nothing at all.
