- Learn the history and philosophy of this 900-year-old martial art
- Practice their self-defense, heightened awareness and combat strategy methods
Learn the secrets of ancient martial arts and the mysterious ninja warriors with one of New York's oldest Bujinkan schools, affiliated with Bujinkan Hombu Dojo in Japan since the early 1980's.
These legendary combat methods teach effective methods of self-protection using elusive timing, control of distance and subtle angling, i.e. like how to avoid the assault of a sword.
Learn from an actual Shidoshi (teacher of the warrior ways) about the history, tradition and philosophy of these night tigers before practicing their self-defense, heightened awareness and combat strategy methods.
This lesson is a great compliment to existing martial art experience. The opportunity to use weapons in this class is on a case to case scenario and under the sole discretion of the instructor.
After this session with our experienced ninja instructor you will better understand the mystery and power that surrounds this 900-year-old martial art.
What martial arts are taught?
Your Ninja Lesson is based on the martial art of ninjutsu also, called budo taijutsu. Budo taijutsu uses relaxed, natural movement, timing and control of distance to overcome an opponent's speed and strength.
Movement is refined for grace and naturalness in all action until power results from mere movement, and evasion from a simple adjustment of position. Weaponry, striking, grappling, choking and throwing as well as methods of leaping and rolling are all disciplines that are incorporated into our curriculum.
This training is one of the rare martial arts undiluted by emphasis on sport competition or artificial rules. Our training emphasizes shiken gata - combat survival techniques.
No experience is necessary. Participants must be 18 years of age or 16 with a parent present.
This is private instruction for up to 3 participants in your group.
This experience is only for those taking the lesson.

"In the short time we were at Bujinkan Dojo, we learned how to roll, grapple, throw stars, punch, kick, and dodge sword blows. Overall, it was an amazing day. The instructor was incredible and took extra time to make sure we were nailing the concepts. In the end, all of us were properly Ninjafied and those around us became just a little more scared, as they should be!"
"The ninja experience was SO fun. Joe, the shidoshi, was extremely knowledgeable and experienced; it was obvious he has made a lifetime commitment to his art and loved sharing it with people. We learned a lot of practical techniques for evading threats that could occur in real life too, which I was not necessarily expecting. He spent a lot of time with both of us and answered every question we had in detail, and even lingered after our experience to chat about the history of ninjutsu and budo taijutsu. He was a really great teacher - instructing, demonstrating, and individually guiding us through the various positions and moves, and his assisting student was great support for us as well. I can't imagine that we would have had as much fun or learned as much if the teacher were someone other than Joe. I have recommended the site and class to several friends since our experience."
"This was an Amazing experience!"
