View FAQ's >

  1. Is it safe?
Yes! All the flights are flown by FAA Certified Commercial pilots. It is also extremely safe because the sailplane carries no fuel or a heavy engine, and is designed to land slowly in a unimproved field.
  2. What is the minimum age to fly?
He/she must be at least 14 to fly solo.
  3. When is the best time to fly?
Earlier flights between 11:00am- 3:00pm are the smoothest.  During the heat of the day there is more unstable air which means it is probably better soaring, but bumpier!

"I've never flown in a glider before and had no idea what to expect. I was a little apprehensive leading up to it, but the staff and team at Sky Sailing quickly put my mind to rest. I very much enjoyed the experience - would definitely do it again. Flying with no engine was a very different and rewarding experience - we even passed a hawk doing the same while up there! Thanks to Ted for the expert handling and making the ride perfect for a first timer! I'd have no problem recommending this experience."

"This was just too much fun. It was a new experience, and I learned a lot about gliding and dispelled some of the myths I had. My guide/pilot was a delightful young man who knew his stuff. It is also beautiful up there! Everyone should try it once in their lives. I for one, would go back for more!"
