Description:

Feel the wind in your face as you speed down the runway and lift off into the clear blue sky in a meticulously restored 1920's airplane.

The earth descends below you and you feel the freedom of the open cockpit in this spectacular flight over the beautiful southern California countryside.

Fly low and slow over beaches, inland over lakes, golf courses, vineyards and more. Or, make up your own route. You are in constant communication with your pilot. Just let him or her know where you want to go, and you are on your way.

Engage in maneuvers such as lazy-eights and wing-overs and mock bombing runs on enemy tanks cleverly camouflaged as cows.

Each flight can be more thrilling than a roller coaster, or as gentle as you like! You tell your pilot what you want.

Enjoy breathtaking views of:

  • Del Mar

View FAQ's >

  1. Is this experience safe?
Yes, all the pilots are FAA Certified Commercial Pilots, and most are also Certified Flight Instructors. Many of the pilots are either active-duty military pilots or airline pilots.
  2. Are there any age, size or weight restrictions?
There is no age restrictions, but the combined weight of participants should not be over 400 pounds.
  3. Is it scary?
In the biplane we'll give you a gentle, level ride described by one reporter as "like a ride in a convertible but with a better view" unless you specifically ask for some excitement. Some folks have said they're afraid of heights, but no worries...believe it or not so are a few of our pilots. Fact is, most people are afraid of edges not heights. In our aircraft you're surrounded by the cockpit and wings and there's none of that "on the edge looking down" sensation at all.
  4. Are we limited to flying your standard routes?
With some exceptions, we can go wherever you want in the time you have on your flight. Be sure to tell the pilot what you want even if it's on our standard route. If you want to fly over something/someone they must be within 25 miles of our airport, and you can figure it will take about as long to get there as it would in a car. Keep in mind, our pilot is the ultimate authority on your flight and may need to alter the standard route due to weather, safety, your bathroom habits, or other concerns.

"The Ad states this adventure as a "thrill" ride, but I would call it quite tame & relaxing! Overall, it was still an incredible flight over San Diego! Our pilot was awesome! "

"I took my mom for her 69th birthday and all the staff could not have been nicer. They called her "Birthday Girl" the whole day and she ate it up. She was worried that she would be too old to get in the plane and enjoy herself and everyone was patient and friendly that she was comfortable right from the beginning. Then the ride was truly amazing all the years of flying in a closed jet plane leave you so disconnected from the flying experience. Here from the start of the engine and the throb of a radial engine to the wind whipping by we had smiles from ear to ear and we had not even left the ground. Once in the air it was AMAZING I did not want it to end. They should offer to sell you another hour in-flight. The view is amazing and the tour was great. We flew by the San Diego fair and could smell the food. When have you has that at 30,000 feet. There was so much to see that your neck gets tired. Landing was the best it was amazing to actually see the runway and line it up for landing felt kind of Red Barron like or something cool like that. We talked about ride the whole hour plus drive home and how we would easily recommend this adventure to anyone that was looking for something out of the ordinary to do for a birthday or special event. The staff is so nice an accommodating they asked what type of ride we wanted and was there anything specific we wanted to see. It was not like we had to pick the off the shelf option. Worth every penny and will cherish the pictures and memories for years to come. Thanks, Shane Kimsey "
