Description:
There is no better way to tour the Napa Valley than from the seat of a bicycle. As you pedal past rows of undulating vineyards you will enjoy an invigorating sensory experience that simply cannot be achieved from the inside of a car.

You will bike at your own pace on mostly flat, easy terrain with picturesque mountains, vineyards and redwoods, as your backdrop.

Your guide will bring you to 4 hand selected wineries where you will have an opportunity to rest, relax, and taste for 30 to 45 minutes. No rushing, you will have plenty of time to take in the scenery and sample the wine.

After a wonderful lunch of fresh fruit, cheese, salads and local deli sandwiches served alfresco overlooking the vineyards, its more riding and more tasting.

What an amazing experience!

4.5 / 5 stars

This was an excellent travel experience. The guide was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, the bike route taken was scenic and, to the extent possible, less heavily trafficked than other roads in the areas, and the wineries visited were friendly and receptive to the group. The group of 12 cyclists was the right size and the people were interesting to visit with. All in all a great time.

  1. What does the itinerary look like?
Below is a sample tour itinerary:
    9:30 a.m.
You'll arrive at the shop, where you will be outfitted with a bike and helmet. You will also meet your tour guide, who will give an orientation on bike rules and safety.

    10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Your tour will pedal at a relaxed pace, covering an average of 4-5 miles between each winery stop. At each winery stop, you will be introduced to the tasting room staff. With our focus on visiting boutique and family-owned properties, our tour guests have great opportunity to ask questions and learn about each property's history and wine-making philosophy. Any wine purchases made throughout the day will be picked up by the van driver and brought back to our shop.

    12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
At your second or third winery stop, a gourmet picnic-style lunch will be served outdoors overlooking the vineyards.  Picnicking alfresco on the wineries' grounds is a favorite and memorable part of our bike tour experience.

    1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
After lunch, the tour will get rolling again with plans to visit one or two more wineries before eventually making it back to the shop in Yountville sometime between 3 and 5 p.m.

    4:00 p.m. to 5 p.m.
After your tour makes it back, you’re welcome to continue riding your bikes until 5:00 p.m. A complementary self-guided map upon request.
  2. What wineries will we visit?
Our guests often want to know which wineries they will visit while on tour. While this is an understandable question, it's nearly impossible for us to answer since we can only book winery appointments a day or two ahead of our tours.

The wineries you'll visit on tour with us were selected based on three criteria: 1) a balance of family-owned, boutique labels as well as larger production wineries; 2) the ambiance of the winery property; and 3) a welcoming and personalized guest experience delivered by the tasting room staff.

To give you an idea of the types of wineries you can expect to visit, here is a sampling of the properties we have been known to frequent: Andretti Winery, Baldacci Family Vineyards, Bell Wine Cellars, Chandon, Chmney Rock, Conn Creek, Elyse Winery, Goose Cross, Grgich Hills, Honig Vineyard and Winery, Luna Vineyards, Monticello Vineyards, Mumm Napa, Pine Ridge Vineyards, Saddleback Cellars and many more.
